Melbourne Zope Sprint Sept - Postponed
Where: Trinity College, Melbourne University.
This sprint has been postponed and will be held at a later date. A number of key people couldn't make the original date. ...............................
The focus of this sprint is on the Zope 2 Graphical User Interface
Why Zope 2? Many local businesses have their products in Zope 2 and expect their full migration to Zope 3 to be a couple of years away. Additionally GUI's have moved on since the Zope 2 frames based GUI was established.
Background:
The proposed topic is work on the Zope 2 interface using ideas from a demo given to Ozzope by Jim Gilbert earlier this year. Jim showed us his high performance, low bandwidth XML tree feature for Zope. This standalone product allows multiple trees, it's extendable and customisable. A significant feature is that it doesn't require a full page reload, only the new branch gets reloaded. The product also allows Drag and Drop, Copy and Drop, and Reference and Drop of objects. Jim built this on some very early Zope 3 code featuring the expansion of a simple tree.
You are invited if you have experience with GUI's.
